The world's greatest cycle race - the Tour de France - passed within a few miles of Lowergill on the 5th & 6th July 2014 It was the first time Le Tour has visited the north of England.

The Roses Round Cyclosportive is a tour of the Lancashire and Yorkshire countryside, taking place on Sunday June 12th 2011from Tosside village hall near Clitheroe, Lancashire. 2 routes available, the longer route approximately 75 miles whilst the shorter route is closer to 36 miles.
