Lower Gill Self catering Holiday cottages

Four Star Green Tourism Gold Award self catering holiday cottages on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the Forest of Bowland A.O.N.B. (Area of Outststanding Natural Beauty) Perfect for a long or short break and ideal for the Three Peaks.

Jenny Wren - sleeps 4, Wagtail - sleeps 6, Primrose Cottage - sleeps 5, Lower Gill Farmhouse - sleeps 12 and Swallows - sleeps 12.

Lower Gill holiday accommodation nestles in a pretty, wooded glade, at the end of a 1/2 mile private road, surrounded by open farmland, managed under the guidelines of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.

In our effort to be environmentally friendly, we have installed a new heating system fuelled by woodchips, which is carbon neutral and all lighting is from low energy bulbs - saving a total of 25 tons of carbon emissions annually. To further support sustainable tourism, there are on site recycling facilities which our visitors are encouraged to use.

The Cottages and Farmhouse are all comfortably furnished to a high standard and personally managed by ourselves and our family, to make your stay as special as possible. All properties have their own patio areas which merge into the landscaped gardens, making this an idyllic, peaceful spot for a rural holiday.

On site there is a 10 x 5m heated indoor swimming pool, a games room with table tennis, pool table and children's games as well as a full sized snooker table. The all weather tennis court and 7 a side football field provide entertainment for the more energetically minded.

Holidaymakers have access to the farmland, through which there are some very pleasant walks. For the more adventurous, the Three Peaks are on the doorstep, where the open fells and moors provide a superb backdrop to the stunning scenery. Close by is Gisburn Forest , where there are 16km of marked cycle routes and footpaths. There is also plenty of fishing in the area at Stocks reservoir and on the River Ribble. The busy, attractive market town of Settle is just seven miles away and the Yorkshire Dales, Trough of Bowland and Lake District are easily accessible by car.
